Women's team named for Asian Volleyball 9/9/2013 10:32:52 PM Sports Reporter JAMMU, Sept 9: The Volleyball Federation of India (VFI) today named the Indian team for the upcoming 17th Asian Senior Women's Championship to be held in Thailand from September 13 to September 21. The same team shall compete in the qualification round for the World Championship to be held at Chenzhou in China from September 27. Team was announced by general secretary of the Federation, Ramavtar Singh Jakhar, reports reaching here said. Indian has been placed in group-B with China, Iran and Philippines in the league round. The team shall leave for the venue tomorrow. THE TEAM: Khedkar Priyanka, Mannaparambil John Alphonsa, Srees Ailam Rekha, Ghosh Anusri, Vengadan Soumya, Raju Tiji, Nirmala, Antony Terin, Nittoor Sruthi Moi, Abraham Mini Mol, Joseph Nishya and Kacheri Babitha. Team Manager: TN Prathapan, Head Coach: Meena Mahalingam. Assistant Coach: RPTailor. Trainer: Vaishali Phadtare.
