Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 9: The National Conference (NC) President, Farooq Abdullah Monday sent a loud message to Pakistan for shutting down the terrorist camps which are being used against India. Abdullah, who is also union minister for new and renewable energy, said, "The condition for dialogue with Pakistan is that Pak must act against terrorists, who are using its territory to create tragedies in India. Till then it is done, dialogue with Pakistan will be meaningless." He was talking to reporters in Jammu University, after inaugurating the International Conference on Triggering Discoveries in High Energy Physics at Zorawar Singh auditorium. During his visit to United States, Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh may meet Pak premier Nawaz Sharief and hold a dialogue on several issues. But many people in the country are opposing dialogue with Pak at a time when its Army is regularly violating ceasefire agreement of 2003 on Line of Control (LoC) for past many weeks. The union minister has also toed the same line that till than these Jihadi elements are not controlled and terror camps are dismantled, holding dialogue will Pakistan will not solve any purpose. "To solve any problem, holding dialogue is the only way out. But Pakistan must try and see that violations don't take place and its territory is not used for anti-India operations." Due to regular firing by Pakistani Army on LoC and killing of five Indian soldiers on August this year, the tension between the two countries has increased. After Nawaz Sharief took oath as Prime Minister of Pakistan for third time, he extended a hand of friendship towards India, but his Army is not under control and anti-India operations are still on. Farooq believed that till the time Jihadi elements are controlled and Pakistan doesn't allow terrorists to use its territory against India, dialogue will not solve any purpose. |
