JAMMU, Sept 9: Koushal of BSF School, Paloura in under-19 and Inderjeet of Army Public School (APS) Miran Sahib in under-17 category emerged as fastest runners on the opening day of the annual inter-school Jammu district athletics meet, organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) at University of Jammu fields, here today.
In under-14 category, Sajjad Hussain of Government High School Sagoon clinched the 100 meters gold. Earlier, a record 745 boys, drawn from various government and private educational institutions, turned up for the competition.
Among other present on the day one of the competition included Zonal Physical Education Officers (ZPEOs), Sher Singh, Sarita Pandha, Jeet Singh and Physical Education Maters (PEMs), Rachpaul Singh and Harvider Singh.
The competition was officiated by the technical penal including Nirmal Singh, Gurbachan Singh, Ram Murti, Vijay Kumar, Chanderveer Singh, Rohit Gupta, Vishal Bharti, Vaneet Pangotra, Satika and Harpreet Bhalla.
