Jammu, Sept 9: An artists' meet was organized by Doordarshan Approved Drama Artists Association Jammu under the President ship of J S Babli in which the members of the Association participated. In the beginning a two minutes silence was observed in the memories of those artists who have left this world including Vijay Suri, Subash Raizada, BS Manhas, Kirpal Singh Kasali, Khyaminder Raina, Sudarshan Langeh, Ashok Sodi and former President of DADAA late Raj Singh Jamwal. Janak Khajuria welcomed the members of the association and put the light on the working of the association during the period of last seventeen years and also said that DADAA is a non political organization of Doordarshan Approved Drama Artists community in Jammu region which has always championed the cause of protection, preservation and development of rich cultural heritage, art and languages of Duggar land in general and welfare of artists community in particular. Some members put their grievances and suggestions for the development of artists fraternity. The Association resolved in the meet to demanding the "Duggar Channel" with sole aim to promote ,protect and develop the rich cultural heritage, art and languages of more than one crore Dogri speaking population stretched in between Mirpur, Bimber, Bag,Siyalkot, Shakargarh of (Pakistan) Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Hoshiyarpur (Panjab) Chamba, Kangra, Palampur, Kulu and Manali of (Himachal Pradesh). |
