Sharma seeks peoples support to set up new system of justice, equality

JAMMU, Sept 9: Exhorting residents of Jammu city to strengthen hands of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed to establish a new system of justice and equality in the State, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Jammu-Poonch Lok Sabha seat Yash Pal Sharma today reminded inhabitants of Jammu city that PDP led regime had carved out a path of peace and equitable development in Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing series of public meetings in different localities of Jammu East and Jammu West assembly segments, Sharma recalled that it was only during the regime of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed that various developmental projects were started exclusively for Jammu city.
While pointing towards various developmental projects which were started and completed during PDP tenure, he reminded that it was during Mufti's regime that widening of roads in Jammu city was done besides developing a number of parking slots in the heart of the city. He especially mentioned that a water supply scheme and a comprehensive sanitation scheme funded by the Asian Development Bank were implemented in Jammu city during PDP led regime. Highlighted achievements of PDP coalition in the State, he said that it was only during PDP-Congress regime that equal treatment was given to all regions and sub-regions of the State. "Before formation of PDP led regime in 2002, there were complaints of discrimination and step motherly treatments", he recalled and added that PDP led regime had not only removed these discrimination but also empowered Jammu and Ladakh regions.
Speaking on the occasion, former Rajya Sabha member Trilok Singh Bajwa called upon the resident of Jammu city to come forward to join PDP. He said that aim of PDP was was to change the present corrupt system to provide justice and equality to all sections of the society.
Terming PDP has party of future, he said that that change was order of the day and people of State were looking towards PDP to change the present corrupt system of mis-governance and nepotism. He added that agenda of the PDP was formulated by accommodating wishes and aspirations of all regions and sub-regions of the State.
District president Jammu urban R K Bali, Shanti Devi, Hamid Choudhary, Fallail Singh, Hussain Ali Bafa, Kuljeet Singh, Surjeet Kour, Nirmal Kour, Rajinder Singh Manhas, E Peter, Varinder Singh Sonu, Chaman Angral, Vikram Singh, Ashok Jogi, Satpal Charak, Capt Anil Gour, Shoukat Gujjar, Rafiq, Puneet Jamwal, Sham Lal Sharma, Sawhney, Vijay Anand and others also spoke on the occasion.
