Srinagar/Jammu, Sept 9: Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) Monday held entrepreneurship awareness cum loan fairs in Doda and Ganderbal districts. As a part of state-wide awareness campaign of term loan scheme being sponsored by the central government under the National Minorities Development and Finance Corporation (NMDFC). Financial assistance for projects costing up to Rs.10 lakh is provided to backward sections among minorities under NMDFC's term loan scheme at concessional interest rates. The programme held at Town Hall Doda was inaugurated by MLC, Doda Khalid Najeeb Suharwardy and nearly 250 participants attended the programme. Suharwardy stressed on the participants to avail the benefits of the NMDFC term loan scheme. "NMDFC Schemes implemented by the Institute are good initiative for poverty alleviation amongst minority community" "It is high time to promote entrepreneurship in the state; youth should set up entrepreneurial ventures rather than wait for government jobs." "Unemployment is a serious challenge for all of us and only entrepreneurship is the way forward," he said. In Doda the programme was also attended by Additional District Development Commissioner, G. N Balwan, SSP Doda, Arif Rishu, and Deputy Director Employment, Shahida Parveen. The awareness camp organised at Town Hall Ganderbal was attended by over 130 participants including sarpanchs, ITI trainees, councilors, district officers from various departments. Members of the Nehru Yuva Kendra actively took part in the day-long session. |
