Kathua, Sept 9: National Youth Project called on MLA Kathua and urged him to address the long pending genuine demands which include widow pensions, consideration as BPL families, and compensation for the loss of property and houses in recent rains and others. The deputation was led by the district coordinator Updesh Andotra who apprised the MLA about the worst conditions of the women and pending of their genuine demands. She said that the women from village Changran, Badala, Sherpur, Jakhbar, Muthi Jagir, Ward.No.11, 12, 9,10 and 17 are facing the several miseries due to the lack of residential portion because most the families of these poor ladies have lost their houses after being collapsed and eroded due to heavy rains and flash floods but no body from the administration side has conducted any visit in their houses to assess their loss so that it is urged to the district administration and government of Jammu and Kashmir to cover the loss with justified compensation. She also told that the widows who have been moving to the social welfare office for seeking the widow pension after having applied for the last more than ten years but no heed from department side is being given to the problem till date. The National Youth Project leader Updesh Andotra again said that most of the deserving families are kept out of the BPL category and it is particularly demanded that they be consideration under BPL category. The poor families are also badly hit by the economic crisis while the electricity department has produced exaggerated electricity bills which are not genuine and has caused the overburden on these families and pressurizing them to pay the bills which is also a great concerns of atrocities on the poor families for which NYP urged the MLA Kathua to come forth for the justified solution of the demands and problems. MLA Kathua gave patient hearing to their problems and demands and assured them for a genuine solution. |
