| Congress comes up with 'Khirki' concept: Launching in Srinagar today | | Move to counter BJP's social media popularity…..? | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 22: In what be seen as a counter measure to popularity of BJP and adoration for Narender Modi on the social media , the Congress has come up with somewhat parallel concept to get its programmes and policies , achievements viewed by people on such networking sites, albeit on its own , self created portal be named as 'Khirki' . Under the concept the party would provide training to its internet savvy youth cadres who will later take full charge of making this operational in all the states . In J&K the first move in this direction will be initiated tomorrow, September 23 when it would be launched formally.
Sources said the party has selected a group of youth in all the states for making 'Khirki' , a sort of web portal of the Congress , albeit with a difference that it will be run on the pattern of Social media sites where the comments would shared for each reference and remark and a system of friends and follow , as seen in the normal social media would be created . This is to generate more and more fan following to the programmes and policies of the Congress party whether at Center where it runs UPA government or in the states where the party has its own governments or in coalition, explained the sources.
And to launch 'Khirki' formally in J&K, it will be a function be attended by dignitaries from New Delhi, the two popular and young faces of Congress Ajay Maken and Priya Dutt have already arrived in Srinagar . While the entire leadership and the leaders from New Delhi remained busy with the PCC meeting and convention at SKICC today, all is set for this function tomorrow which will also be attended by the senior leaders of the party. In J&K around 200 youth cadres mainly affiliated with youth wing of the party have been selected to be associated with this new programme which the party deems a vital step ahead of elections in the state. Sources said they will first be provided some kind of training in order to make them explain which way and mode the site has to function.
They would also be given a set of text wherein the achievements of the party have already been listed , said the sources. However, this has to be re produced on the site in a manner so as to look natural and generated afresh for the readers. What remains important is to share the comments with as many friends and make others follow what has been written and commented, added the sources. While a huge number has been selected for making this show run in J&K, those who are in the frontline include Fayaz Mir, Hilal Shah . Nisar , Amit Amla , Shah Nawaz , sources said. |
