| Aspirants appeal CM to intervene for release of final list | | | Early Times Report Kathua, Oct 14: The candidates who had appeared for the interview for selection of warden in J&K Police prisons have alleged that after the lapse of nearly 3 years, government has not taken any decision to release the final list of the candidates. Near about 40,000 unemployed youth had appeared in said interview out of which 1200 candidates qualified for interview from J&K who alleged that it is strange that despite lapse of more than 3 years the concerned has not issued the final selection list. A strong prortest demonstration was held in this regard under the leadership of Ashwani Kumar who gave ultimatum to the government that if their demands are not addressed the candidates will go for massive protest demonstration on 18th of October and then after the hunger strike will begun right from 11th of Nov. A deputation of the unemployed youth who appeared for the interview met chief minister in Awami Darbar in Srinagar on 21.9.2011 as the CM assured the candidates that the selection list will be issued in a short period of time. The deputation of the unemployed youth also met the former Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand, Sajaad Ahmed Kichloo, Balwant Singh Mankotia, MP Lal Singh, Manohar Lal Sharma, MP Madan lal, Sham Lal (minister) Ravinder Sharma (MLC), Durga Dass (MLA) and these too have given full assurance that the matter will be taken up in the legislative assembly. He alleged that the politician did nothing than making bogus and hollow promises and forced the candidates to undergo severe harassment and miseries. The president of the candidates said that w.e.f 1995 no selection has taken place in the department and there are more than 2000 vacancies in the department and the department is suffering for man power. Since it is the matter of the unemployed youth and more over the candidates who appeared for the interview are getting overage as such the deputation has appealed to the CM to take personally intervene in the matter so that final order be issued in favor of all the 1200 candidates who have passed in the interview. In this protest Romi Sharma, Chaman lal, Ravi Kumar, Kishor Kumar, Harpreet Singh, Kubeer Singh, Pankaj Sharma and Sardari Lal were present. |
