Jammu, Oct 23: As a part of the Cross Border Peace Initiative, Catholic Social Service Society (CSSS) together with Caritas India organized a one day seminar on "Peace Building" for the students of Border Schools, today in CSSS, Sevaniketan, Kunjwani. The seminar started at with the welcome address by Jobin Joseph, Project Manager, CSSS and formally was inaugurated by Fr S Joseph, Principal, St. Francis Higher Secondary School, Akhnoor. The sessions were facilitated by Mariadasan, State officer, Caritas India, Amrit, PRO, Caritas India, Fr. Ashwin, Mananger, St. Antony's Convent High School, Vijaypur and Niamat Ali, Programme Manager, CSSS. At least 50 students from selected four schools namely St. Francis Higher Secondary School, Akhnoor, St. Joseph Convent High School, Arnia, Nirmala High School, Kaleeth and Holy Cross Convent High School, R. S Pura situated in the border areas took part in the seminar. During the seminar, the students discussed some of the main problems in the state like terrorism, religious tensions etc which cause serious threats to the peace and harmony of the state. The participants are the members of Peace Clubs, in their respective schools. The seminar concluded with the Vote of Thanks by Sr. Suma, DHC and Project Coordinator, CSSS. |
