| Government keeps suspense over salary of re-employed blue eyed officials | | Important positions blocked following extension in services of retired officials | | Jehangir Rashid SRINAGAR, Oct 23: After flouting its own decision of banning re-employment of the retired officials the state government has kept in suspense the salary and other emoluments of seven retired officials who were either re-employed or given a time bound contract. According to the information provided by General Administration Department, Irfan Yaseen who retired as Vice-Chairman, Lakes and Waterways Development Authority (LAWDA) was re-employed on the same position for a period of one year from March this year. The GAD has said that the re-employment has been made to facilitate smooth functioning of the Authority. The Department has said that pay of Vice-Chairman, LAWDA shall be fixed in terms of Article 259-A of Jammu & Kashmir Civil Service Rules. The GAD information said that Mohammad Anees who retired as Regional Transport Officer (RTO) Kashmir was given one year extension in his service from May 1 this year. The department said that the re-appointment of one year would be contractual in nature and it has been done to facilitate smooth functioning of the department. The GAD said that pay of Anees shall be fixed in terms of Article 259-A of Jammu & Kashmir Civil Service Rules. Interestingly, Anees is the husband of MLA Habba Kadal and Chairperson, State Commission for Women, Shameema Firdous and had retired from the government services on April 30, 2013. Feroz Ahmad Sheikh who retired as Additional Secretary, General Administration Department was re-employed as Additional Secretary (Legal) in GAD for a period of one year. The GAD said that re-employment of Feroz has been done to render assistance in disposing of legal matters and the shortage of officer with law background. The department said that pay of Feroz shall be fixed in terms of Article 259-A of Jammu & Kashmir Civil Service Rules. Ajay Khajuria who retired as Director Agriculture, Jammu was re-employed on the same position for one more year from May 1, 2013. The GAD said that re-employment has been done due to non-availability of the eligibility officer. The department said that pay of Ajay shall be fixed in terms of Article 259-A of Jammu & Kashmir Civil Service Rules. Jatinder Kumar Gupta who retired as Special Secretary was re-employed as Private Secretary in State Vigilance Commission from March this year. The GAD said that re-employment has been done so that the officer provides secretarial assistance to the newly appointed Commissioners of State Vigilance Commission pending formal creation of staff. Jatinder is being paid last salary minus pension and commuted portion of pension. Kuldeep Kumar Raina who retired as Deputy Superintendent of Police was also re-employed as Private Secretary in State Vigilance Commission from March this year. The GAD said that re-employment has been done so that the officer provides secretarial assistance to the newly appointed Commissioners of State Vigilance Commission pending formal creation of staff. Jatinder is being paid last salary minus pension and commuted portion of pension. Mushtaq Ahmad Wani who retired as Deputy Secretary in State Information Commission was re-employed for one more year on the same position in March this year. The GAD said that re-appointment was made to facilitate smooth functioning in the State Information Commission. Mushtaq is being paid last salary drawn minus pension and commuted portion of pension. |
