| Diwali arrangements discussed at Kathua | | | Early Times Report
KATHUA, Oct 23: To discuss the arrangements for ensuing Diwali festival, a meeting was convened by District Development Commissioner, Kathua, Jitendra. K. Singh here at Kathua today. He directed the authorities concerned to keep a strict vigil on the sale of the fire crackers and keep a check on whether the shopkeepers are following the guidelines laid down for the purpose including the provision of potable cease fires at their respective places. He directed the Fire and Emergency services department to keep the fire tenders ready to meet any eventuality. He said that committees constituted will keep a check on the quality and rates of eatables, sanitation, and encroachment in market places and other busy places in the town. He also directed the committees constituted to keep a check especially on the adulterated and synthetic milk products and seize and destroy them wherever found. He directed the PDD department to ensure uninterrupted power supply while the PHE department was directed to ensure the provision for regular water supply during the festival. He also passed instructions to PHE to keep the water tankers ready in case of water scarcity in any area. He also passed instructions to the traffic department to check the traffic congestion in the markets and also ensure smooth flow of traffic. He directed the health department to remain equipped to deal with the cases of burn injuries and any other mishaps during the festival. He asked CMO to ensure availability of ambulance. Among others ADC Kathua, Rajesh Sharma and officers from various concerned departments were present in the meeting. |
