10/23/2013 11:16:02 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Oct 23: To protest against the heavy shelling by Pakistan on International Border and Line of Control (LoC) in which a BSF jawan was killed, the workers of Dogra Front and Shiv Sena Jammu & Kashmir under the leader ship of president Ashok Gupta took out a procession in main parts of Jammu city which concluded at City Chowk.
Shouting anti-Pakistan slogans, the activists of Shiv Sena and Dogra Front also burnt the Pakistan flag.
While addressing the gathering, Ashok Gupta stated that only verbal threat to the Pakistan is not enough, now the time has come to teach Pakistan the language which it understands the language of heavy retaliation and Pakistan should be reminded the war of 1965 and 1971.
Condemning the attack, Ashok Gupta said that such incidents are not acceptable and India should send a strong message to Pakistan.
"Pakistan has always had a dual governance trend. One is democratic and the other is led by the military. Pakistan's military is very notorious, their intentions towards India has always been malicious. They believe in poking India. Pakistan has a different way of functioning," said Gupta.
"Our stand has always been that when it is a matter between two countries, the third country cannot participate in it. This has been our viewpoint right the time of Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru and even today our view is the same," Gupta said, when asked about Pakistan's Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif hinting at seeking US intervention in resolving the Kashmir issue.
Pakistan understands only one language and that is retaliation in bullets
The party workers who were present at the time of protest were Lal Singh, Gurdass, Vikram Sharma, Tarseem lal, Nanku, Roashan lal, Sunil Kumar, Raj Kumar and various others were present.
Meanwhile, National Panthers Students Union (NPSU) also staged a protest demonstration against the ceasefire violation by Pakistan.
Expressing its resentment over the Pak shelling targeting the civilian areas and non-serious attitude of the state and central government, scores of NPSU activists along with the students of several city colleges demonstrate by wearing black bands on their foreheads.
The protesting students under the leadership of State President NPS Partap Singh Jamwal raised slogans against center and state governments and demanded stern action against Pak, "The visit of Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde was mere an eyewash as no package for the rehabilitation of border residents was announced," said Partap.
He said that the border residents are continuously having sleepless night for the last couple of days and the whole responsibility to look after them lie with our state and center governments.
