| Day long ex servicemen convention held | | | Kathua, Nov 1: Ex-servicemen and war widows at Sanji Morh Kathua held a day long convention which was presided over by Colonel (Retd) Piara Lal Choudhary in which various issues pertaining to ex servicemen and their dependents were discussed.
A large number of aggrieved war widows and Ex-servicemen who have been long fighting for their pension and compensation related issues against the Indian Army apprised their cases to Col Choudary the chairperson. Col Choudhary listened to all their woes and grievances in order to take up the same with appropriate authorities at Army Headquarters. He also educated them about their rights and distributed pamphlets and relevant forms for claiming various benefits and also about new pension and welfare related schemes launched by the State and Central Government. |
