Jammu, Nov 1: In a typical instance of pot calling kettle black, ruling National Conference has exhibited it again that it gets shaken even at the slightest criticism and disapproval of the conduct party's leadership which has come in public. This time it were critical remarks of a person who remained loyalist all through his service career until he decided to call it a day and look for prospects in the rival camp PDP. The move surely came as blow, unpalatable to NC leadership so much so that it tried to persuade Dr Harmesh Singh, not to quit the party. Soon he did, an arrogant gesture of the NC leadership came in as much as act of frustration, disowning him only the next day as never having been a part of the party, which is a brazen lie in the refuge of which party is only obliterating 'services' Dr Singh rendered to party in many ways.
Feeling of alienation within the workers of the National Conference and the hidden policy of using and dumping them is nothing new a phenomenon in the party. That it is forcing many of them to cross fences to the ideological adversaries as chosen few have reduced the party into their personal courtyard, is something which has been substantiated with Dr harmesh Singh's move of preferring PDP to NC. A diehard party loyalist who openly flaunted his affiliation with the National Conference on his sleeve despite being a government servant for close to three decades shifted to PDP, is apparently aggrieved over persistent neglect, insult and slur by the party leaders. The services and his loyalties is something which even NC high command knows well , given the fact that it even cost him when he faced suspension in services once during the service career.
Dr. Harmesh Singh Slathia, an officer in the Animal husbandry department of the state government recently switched over three decades of his loyalty to the National Conference to join PDP. Dented and defeated by what he termed as persistent insult and affront by the party leadership , every one knows that Dr. Harmesh worked for the party with utmost selfless earnestness dedication without caring for his government job is anguished over the indifference of his leader and the party leadership as a whole for not taking cognizance of his pleadings that honest workers were being subjected to insult and apathy.
"From the day I casted my vote for the first time in favour of National conference way back in 1977, I have worked with utmost sincerity for the cause of the party and was even suspended for putting up posters of the National Conference being a government servant" said Harmesh. "I was subjected to public censure for being an NC loyalist" he added.
Impelled by the rudeness and insensitivity of the party, Harmesh finally jumped the fence the previous day and joined , embarrassing National Conference which has already lost prominent names to Congress and PDP recently. "I brought the matter of growing dissatisfaction in the notice of the party, but did not get expected response" Harmesh narrated.
Asked about his political ambitions in PDP, Harmesh said that he would follow the directions of the party and 11 member committee constituted under Mehbooba Mufti to decide on the mandate for the forthcoming assembly elections.
