| FONL criticizes amendments in Roshni scheme | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 24: Forum of Lease Holders and Occupants of Nazool/Government took serious notice of certain amendments in ROSHNI scheme which otherwise has turned down as utter failure for the state govt on both counts of either retrieving huge state land more than 20 Lac kanals from illegal occupants/encroachers or to generate 25000 crores Revenue. Interacting with the members during a meeting the Chairman FONL Action Committee Inderjeet Khajuria blamed the state Govt for its anti poor policy as the said amendments in the J&K State Lands (vesting of ownership to the occupants) Rules 2007 besides other amendments include further hike of 5 % in all the slabs for fresh applicants besides further penalty to be imposed on all the pending cases. Khajuria gave clear account of the meetings conducted and submission of memorandum to the then Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, CM Omar Abdullah, Revenue Minister Raman Bhalla, Political Advisor Devender Rana Divisional Commissioner and the Deputy Commissioner claiming that the Forum was assured of charging rates for regularization of Nazool lands/Govt lands at par with the rates charged from the occupants of 13 colonies already regularized by the Govt where 15000 to 40000 per kanal have been charged and had further advocated inability to pay Rs 40 Lac to 1.5 Crore per kanal as levied by the Govt for regularisation which otherwise as well is not justified in view of ground Rent, Lease rate being paid regularly since years. |
