Jammu, Nov 24: An anonymous poster in possession of Early Times reflects the level of corruption in Education department headed by the Deputy Chief Minister, Tara Chand. The poster says the transfers in the department can be affected in lieu of a consideration. The poster also gives the rates for transfers. According to transfer rate list mentioned in the poster, 'approved' by Deputy Chief Minister, Rs. 2 Lakh to 5 Lakh for transfer of Principal (within city), Rs. 1 Lakh to 1.5 Lakh for outskirts; Rs. 1 Lakh to 1.5 lakh for lecturer transfer within city and Rs. 60,000 in outskirts; Rs. 1 Lakh for transfer of Master within city and Rs. 60,000 for outskirts; Rs. 60,000 for transfer of teacher within city and Rs. 40,000 for outskirts. Surprisingly the poster appeared on Saturday in the premises of the SRML Higher Secondary School but no action has been taken by the concerned. The entire teaching fraternity and the department of education is gaga over serious allegations of corruption leveled in the poster. "If the Deputy Chief Minister is not involved, he must take action, at least order a probe," said a teacher adding "the poster had maligned the department and the minister himself." "The services were being offered on first come first serve basis; either pay or perish" the poster read. It also read that the `transfers were on sale by order of the Deputy Chief Minister and strictly enforced by the Director School Education, Jammu.' The poster has also identified the `authorized agents' of the `transfer policy'. The poster has named Kewal Krishan, Public Relation Officer to deputy Chief Minister, Sangram Singh (Teacher DIET Jammu), Swarn Singh Lecturer (Economics), NS Jamwal, President 10+2 Lecturer Forum, Charan Dass, vice president 10+2 Lectuer Forum and Rakesh, Senior Assistant Gazetted Section in Director's Office. |
