| Police will take stern action against drug suppliers: Beigh | | |
Jammu,24 Nov. Drug awareness camp was organized jointly by Christian Sports Organization and Jammu Police at Mandir in a Balmiki Colony with the objective to aware the youths of the area that taking of drugs and other allied things regularly is just to invite death and making their families disturbed and spoil the career of their children.
DIG Jammu Shakeel Beigh was the Chief Guest on the occasion, Fr.Kuriakose Chairman, was preside over the function, whereas SP Headquarters Randeer Singh was the guest of honour on the occasion. Rev.Bishop Peter Celestine Chief Patron was also present and blessed the camp.
while speaking on the occasion DIG Shakeel Beigh lauded the efforts of Christian Sports Organization for conducting the Drug awareness camp for the youths of this area. He further said that Police will take stern actions against the drug suppliers to curb the drug menace and to save the youths of the state from the drugs. He said that Police Organization is doing so many programmes in order to give right direction to the youths of the state. He further appealed to the parents that to keep active watch on their wards and check their day to day activities so that they may not derail from the main stream. Fr. Kuriakose in his address said that the Christian Sport Organization was formed with the sole objective to help and save the youths who are involved in drug and Other allied things and said the organization will continue to conduct regular awareness camps for the youths so that they can be aware and stop taking drugs. SP Headquarters also stated that Police department has open a drug de addiction Centre at Gulshan Ground Gandhi nagar for the rehabilitation of the drug addict person and requested the parents to send their wards there for free medication and counseling. Earlier, Rajesh Gill President of the Organization presented the welcome address and also give the details of the awareness camp, Vote of thanks presented by the Asif Gill Joint secy of the Organization, the Proceedings of the events were conducted by the Victor Sotra, Vice President of CSO. Among other dignitaries who present on the occasion are Nicodemus President of Christian United Federation, SDPO Gandhi nagar Zahid Aziz Samoon,SHO Gandhi Nagar Rajinder Sharma, Rinku Gill,Jang Bahadur,Jagdish Khokher,Joginder,Sunny Gill,Babu Bunty. Later on the camp was culminated with the National Anthem. |
