Udhampur, Nov 30 : An education cum motivational tour under Operation Sadhbhavna with the theme 'Unity in diversity' was organized by a local army unit from 20 Nov to 29 Nov 2013 in Udhampur District of J&K. The tour was aimed at exposing the students of remote areas to the rich cultural diversity of the country so as to widen their horizon and inculcate a spirit of Nationalism. The tour comprising of 23 students and 3 teachers visited three culturally rich and historic cities of Rajasthan namely Jaipur, Ajmer and Udaipur.
The children were taken to places like Jantar Mantar, Birla Mandir, Central Museum, Dargah Sharif, Akbar Palace & Museum, Pacific University and Udaipur Solar Observatory. The team on their return on 29 Nov 13 were given a warm welcome. On being spoken to, the children expressed their joy and happiness on having visited Rajasthan and having experienced the rich cultural diversity of the country. They were also very thankful to the Army for having provided them this opportunity and expressed their desire to be sent on such trips again. |
