| Why political parties are mum on 2010 MBBS scam? | | | ET Report JAMMU, Nov 30: While as all political parties in the state are demanding high level probe to the latest exposure of scam in Combined Entrance Test (CAT), no one is speaking about another notorious MBBS impersonation scam in which wards of some influential persons was involved. The scam was exposed in the year 2010 but till date no comprehensive action has been taken so far. Although this high profile case was handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and charge sheet was presented by the premier investigation agency yet no further action has been taken. Those who had hired people from outside of the state are still roaming freely and no action has been taken against them. It is believed that those involved in that scam are influential persons so that matter was hushed up. Some persons had impersonated in the Common Entrance Test for the Session 2010 conducted at Jammu on 21.08.2010 on behalf of actual candidates. The said impersonators were caught impersonating during examination at Jammu University on 21.08.2010. The FIR No. 177/2010 was registered at Police Station, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu on the written complaint of a private college. The investigation of the case was taken up by the CBI, Jammu Branch and registered the case No. RC0042010S0009 for offences U/S 120-B r/w Sections 419/420/467/468/471 RPC and 2/5 PUE Act and commenced the investigation thereupon. During investigation, the relevant incrementing records were seized from the different concerned. Only opposition BJP had raised this issue for quite sometime but later leadership of this party had also stopped talking about that scam. It is believed that it was result of the political understanding among political parties that no one is speaking about the scam. |
