Farmers suffer losses due to poor seeds

BISHNAH, Nov 30: Farmers from border areas held a protest demonstration in front of the Agricultural office in Chak Hasal on Saturday.
Farmers from Allaha , Rehal, Chak Hasal and Pandorian held a protest demonstration in front of the Agricultural office in Chak Hasal. They said that despite claims from Agriculture Department officials regarding streamlining of seeds, complaints of duping farmers have increased with each passing day.
In a fresh incident, farmers of borders have complained about crop loss.The district had received good rainfalls after three consecutive years of natural calamities. Farmers Mohan Lal Dev Raj, Preetam Singh, Sodagar Mal were expecting good yield during this season, they said. However, they added that the seeds were of poor quality, they said. A farmer said that he had got no yield in his entire two acres of field and was worried how to repay the loan he took for cultivation.
