ET Report Jammu, Nov 30: Continuing drive against the menace of adulteration an extensive tour under the supervision of Vinod Sharma Health Officer JMC, was conducted today .The prominent milk shops were inspected in the locations like Raghunath Bazar, Purani Mandi, Peer Mitha, Kachi Chowni, New Plot areas etc.The shops checked were Pahalwan Di Hatti, Casino, Krossways sweet shop, Labbu Di Hatti and other shops.All the shopkeepers asked to keep milk testing machines in their shops for checking of milk as well as display the rate list of milk and the contents of milk i.e. fats, SNF etc.The Health Officer Jammu Municipal Corp. directed all the shopkeepers dealing with milk to place cow milk, buffalo milk, and mixed milk separately at their premises. As we all know that the cow milk is good for all especially for children as well as Old aged persons; so it was also advised to the general public to give preference to the cow milk especially for drinking purposes. Besides this banned polythene material was also seized while touring in the areas like Narwal Channi, Jewel, Canal Road etc. About 5 kgs of polythene was seized from 21 defaulters and a fine of Rs. 5,100/- was also realized from these defaulters.All the business owners were also instructed not to use polythene bags which is in long run injurious to health, can cause cancer & impotency. |
