Cong strong enough to emerge as single largest party: Soz

Poonch, Nov 30: President JKPCC and former Union Minister Saifuddin Soz-MP has said that Congress is strong enough to emerge as a single largest party in the state and urged the people to sustain this position in order to provide opportunity to the Congress party to lead the state to the path of peace, progress and prosperity. Addressing a mammoth gathering at Mandi and Surankot in Poonch district Soz said that it is settled situation that Congress is number one party in the state in view of its strength in secular policy in the regions of the state and will emerge as a single largest party in the next assembly elections.
He urged the people to sustain this position so that Congress can lead the people of the state to serve them better irrespective of caste, creed, color , religion and region. He said that Congress led UPA government in the centre has been providing liberal finance assistance and special packages to the state of Jammu and Kashmir for its faster development and progress in every sphere of life and asked the people especially the Panchayat representatives to act as watch dog over the implementation of central schemes.Soz said that the democracy can be strengthened by empowering the Panchayat Raj Institutions at the pattern of 73rd Amendment and said that Congress will ensure these institutions get due rights to serve the people at the grass root level.
He assured that 'Loran' will be linked to Tangmarg through road and demand of Degree collage at 'Mandi' will be pursued on priority. He also asked the Minister for R&B Shri Abdul Majid Wani and Minister of State for Health (Independent Incharge) Shabir Ahmed Khan who were present at the occasion to fulfill genuine demands of the people of these areas on priority. He said that Congress alone can ensure equitable development in all three regions and justice to people of all faiths and religion on the path of secularism.
Soz thanked the people for their large participation and faith in the Congress party.
The rally at 'Mandi' was organized by Vice Chairman Gujjar & Bakerwal Board Bashir Ahmed Naaz, who highlighted various demands of the area.
Minister for R&B Abdul Majid Wani and Minister of State for Health (Independent Incharge) Shabir Ahmed Khan also addressed the gathering and assured to take up the demands of people for early redressal.
Ravinder Sharma also addressed the gathering and highlighted historic importance of the area in view of the Shrine Budha Amar Nath and Nangal Sahib.
He also urged the Minister for R&B to improve the condition of Shrines at Mandi-Budha Amarnath road and Nangal Sahib.
A large number of prominent citizens joined the Congress party before PCC Chief Saifuddin Soz (MP).Prominent among those who attended meeting at Poonch were S/Shri Shiv Kumar Sharma(INTUC), Thakur Manmohan Singh, Sain Abdul Rashid, S. Rajinder Singh Kaka, Ch. Majid Khan, Neeraj Gupta, Nirdosh Sharma, Abid Kashmiri, Sanjeev Sharma(Panda), besides district and block leaders of Poonch. Soz was accorded warm reception by Pradesh Youth Congress Committee at Poonch and later at Surankot by Cavalcade of vehicles led by President PYC Shahnawaz Choudhary.
