Poonch, Nov 30: Seeking support of every sections of the society to set up a new system of equality and justice in Jammu and Kashmir, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Jammu-Poonch Lok Sabha seat, Yash Pal Sharma MLC today said that PDP was committed to treat all regions and sub-regions equally. He reiterated PDP's commitment to make institutional arrangements to ensure equal opportunities of growth to the residents of all regions and sub-regions of Jammu and Kashmir.Addressing a meeting of prominent citizens of Poonch today, Mr Sharma termed National Conference led coalition regime as total failure and observed that it was high time to launch a war against this anti-people government. He regretted that people in most part of Jammu region, especially in the hilly areas, have been facing hardship due to non availability of ration and other essential commodities in the remotest areas. "Common masses at the verge to starvation due to non availability of ration but the authorities are unconcerned towards miseries of the people", he said and flayed the the government for adopting non serious attitude towards woes of the commoners. "Instead of solve problems of the common masses, ruling elites are more concerned about their petty politicking", he regretted. "Since January 5, 2009 when Omar Abdullah has taken over as Chief Minister of the State problems of the common masses have been increasing as one and the only aim of this dispensation is to enjoy the power without caring problems of the common masses", he observed. "Failure of the government can be gauged from the fact that farmers, employees, technocrats, unemployment youth, students have been agitating in one or other way but the government is non- serious in solve their problems", he said. He called upon the people to educate the masses to about the revolutionary steps which taken by Mufti Mohammed Sayeed during his tenure as Chief Minister of the State. "Mufti Mohammed Sayeed has set an example of good governance and he has carved out a path of equitable development", he observed and reminded that it was during the regime of PDP led government that all regions and sub-regions of the State were treatment equally. He reminded the people about revolutionary steps which were taken during the regime of Mufti Mohammed Sayeed for the development and betterment of the State. Advocate Kalhan Raina, Ghulam Mohammad Jafri district labour union president, Basant Ram Sharma, Amar Singh Josh, Kewel Singh, Naresh Sharma, Sardar Khazan Singh and others also spoke on the occasion. |
