| NC reminds Azad of coalition 'Dharma' | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Jan 1: Claiming that the strong National Conference (NC) in Jammu and Kashmir is in the interest of the country, Mustafa Kamaal additional general secretary NC today said the attempts to weaken NC here would weaken the position of national parties in the state. Kamaal while taking to KNS maintained that the NC has always worked in the fore front for the state and it is fraught with the dangerous consequences if the attempts are made to weaken NC. "The Congress in the state is because of NC and no party here should spin the line against it." Reacting to the recent statement of Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Ghulam Nabi Azad that the coalition in the State has failed to trickle down, Kamaal said that Azad has no assessment of the ground situation here and that he must figure out the lapses of the present Government so that the same could be rectified. Kamaal further stated that the statement from Azad's desk about the coalition dharma is 'unfortunate' and that he should have respected the coordination of the Government over various subtle issues pertaining to the state. "We (NC-Cong) worked in unison and always resolved the issues with the amicable manner." Commenting over the pre-poll alliance with the Congress here, Kamaal remarked that history bears witness to the fact that NC never forged any pre-poll alliance with the Congress here and that both the parties should contest separately so that representative character could get emerged of both the parties. "We should not thrust the candidates to the people. It is the democracy wherein people must be given the choice of the candidates they want to vote for. NC and Congress must field candidates separately." |
