| Surrendering Parliament seat will spill disaster for party: Vakil | | `Congress is India in Kashmir' | | ET Report Rafiabad, Jan 1 : Member AICC and Former Minister, Abdul Gani Vakil today appealed party high command not to surrender any Parliament seat in any region of the state because it will be an unaffordable disaster for the party. He was addressing a public meeting in Panzalla Rafiabad today. Admitting the high command alone was authorized to take a decision on poll alliance but he urged the party to look at the pros and cons of any decision with extreme caution. "Congress is India in J&K especially in Kashmir Valley and India cannot be weakened in any way added," he said adding surrendering party's representation for the sake of any type of alliance in the ensuing Parliament Elections will also have a negative impact on the party. He reiterated that if Congress does not consider and pay attention to representation aspect for Parliamentary polls in each and every constituency the Assembly elections will be a futile exercise and waste of time for 128 year old party. Vakil said forging pre- poll alliance after ignoring the wishes of party men will not help Congress in any way. "Instead, it will be a big jolt to expectations and aspirations of common masses, who have affiliated themselves with the party after feeling dejected and disgusted due to exploitative regional politics," he said. The AICC Member while reiterating his stand on corruption said that menace has taken toll to a greater extent and has weakened the country and caused alienation amongst the masses. Vakil stressed upon the Government to be responsive to public grievances and come forward for their help and rescue. He expressed serious concern over the failure of Government in restoring power supply and clearing snow from roads. The former Minister insisted upon Government to put in place rigorous efforts for maintaining supply of essentials in the valley during adverse weather conditions.
