Congress-led UPA Govt must act against rogue Pakistan
Martyrdom of Lance Naik Hemraj, Sudhakar Singh

Jammu, Jan 11: The claims of Pakistan of holding the so-called peace talks (read break-India talks) were with India deflated on Friday, when a shocking video emerged on social media and a number of private TV channels that showed a person carrying a head with suggestions that it was that of Lance Naik Hem Raj, who was martyred and beheaded by cruel Pakistan army regulars and Lashkar and Jaish terrorists deep inside the Mendhar sector of Poonch district in Jammu province on January 8, 2013. They had also shot dead Sudhakar Singh and mutilated his body.
It was a despicable incident that had shocked and outraged the nation, barring the Congress-led UPA Government in the sense that it downplayed the Pakistani barbarous act. Neither Sonia Gandhi nor Rahul Gandhi had uttered a word to raise the morale of the Indian Army and express their solidarity with the bereaved families. As for Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, he spoke after almost a week under pressure from below and made a statement he did not really mean. He had said there could not be business as usual with Pakistan after the Mendhar incident. That he did not mean it became clear in March when his Foreign Minister Salman Khursid went all the way from Delhi to Jaipur to accord a red carpet welcome and host royal lunch to the visiting Pakistani Prime Minister.
Sadly, the Army Headquarters in New Delhi refused to comment on the issue saying they were not in a position to say anything on the contents of the video. It is a matter of grave concern. It appears the political establishment has ordered the Army headquarters not to comment on the video. Why? It's a million dollar question. Only the nominated Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and the real masters Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi can answer this question because they control everything.
Of course, Information and Broadcasting Minister Manish Tewari condemned the incident saying, "If there is such a video on social media, it is sad and condemnable. I am sure that the Defence Ministry would take some action in this regard after ascertaining its veracity". In the video, a person, who according to media reports is a terrorist, is parading the head of Lance Naik Hemraj on the Pakistani soil, alongwith his other belongings, including torch batteries and low denomination Indian currency.
Commenting on the incident, BJP spokesperson Prakash Javedkar said using the head of the beheaded Indian soldier as a trophy as shown in the video clip is absolutely shocking. "This is against the very spirit of humanity. Indian Government must immediately tell whether this is the head of Hemraj and what action it is taking on the issue. We will wait for 24 hours on what the Government has done. This is a crime against humanity and cannot be forgiven," he said. Now that it is established that Pakistan was directly involved in the gory and highly abominable act, it is time for the Congress-led UPA Government to act and teach Islamabad a lesson. Not to act would mean that it is willfully demoralizing the Army to promote the Pakistani cause in Kashmir.
