| Instead of focusing on governance, Omar attacks opposition parties | | NC Govt has nothing to show to people | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 11: The National Conference (NC) has nothing to show to people as it has only brought out the miseries for the people of the state during past five years. Today a rally was organised by NC in Vijaypur where Chief Minister Omar Abdullah was accompanied by MLA Vijaypur Surjit Singh Slathia and provincial president Devender Singh Rana, who instead of focusing on their work done only attacked opposition parties. The National Conference in the state has done nothing extra ordinary which would enable them to make a mark in the field of governance but the party has only focused on making way for their leaders and relatives to mint money. During the rally, Omar only attacked opposition parties for raising the Government's wrong doing. Speaking on his achievements, he only could put forth the introduction of Public Service Guarantee Act (PSGA), which in reality is working only on papers. He said that people can get their work done in a time frame without paying the bribe but it is a wide known fact that wherever a common man goes, he has to pay money to get the work done. The Chief Minister said that 70 type of works have been put under PSGA where people will be able to get their work done like in Revenue department, getting an FIR copy, in Transport department and much more. But when a common man reaches at any additional region transport office to make route permit or license, he or she gets hustled by agents of the Transport department who take double of the actual amount. Similarly in Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution department, kerosene is not easily available to the people as it is being sold in black market. People have to wait for hours together to get the ration allotted on their name. In Revenue department, Patwaris and above keep people waiting for months and years together but they don't do their work. There are many such departments where corruption has reached from top to bottom but Government has done nothing to change the system. |
