| Two BJP leaders to join party ahead of polls, scribes too in race | | AAP 'fever' fast gripping in Jammu too | | ET Report Jammu, Jan 11: As Aam Admi Party wave is fast catching up across the country and its popularity graph having reached a cresendo, Jammu too is getting influenced in the frenzy of joining spree being witnessed in many parts of the nation. The passion to 'serve' the nation through this newly found political party is becoming so intense that apart from non entities belonging to different sections and classes are more than eager to join AAP. Also in the race are known figures including some people from different political parties and even scribes. Sources said the quitting spree which has begun in some parties may happen in this part of the state ahead of Assembly elections. This is only to join AAP to try their fortunes from its highly mobilised political waters and it has impacted some key functionaries in the state unit of BJP too. Sources said at least two leaders of BJP are ready to call it quits with the party and can join AAP anytime soon. These leaders are apprehensive of their chances in terms of securing a ticket to contest the polls on BJP ticket, there being too many strong contenders from constituencies which can ensure victory without tough resistance. However, they are confident that getting mandate from AAP from their choicest constituencies for Assembly elections in the state is not a challenging job, sources said adding that they are in contact with the central leadership of the AAP in Delhi and joing the party is only a matter of time with them. Sources also confirmed that some scribes are also in line and waiting their formal entry into AAP fold any time ahead of elections in the state. While a couple of journalists have made this more than explicit during the past few weeks, there are some prominent names from the field who are prepared switch over their professional skills to join the AAP. This desire has only been emoldened and enthused after renowned TV journalist from a News Channel in Delhi joined the party amid huge debates and discussions about scribes too plunging the joing spree, sources said adding that they too are in constant contact with the people who matter in central leadership of AAP. |
