Rajouri, Jan 29: Cautioning people against evil designs of ruling National Conference, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today asserted that party would strongly oppose gimmick of the ruling NC to hoodwink the people in election year.
Addressing series of public meetings in Rajouri assembly segment, PDP candidate for Jammu-Poonch Lok Sabha seat Yash Pal Sharma today said that ruling NC has brazenly been indulged into deceit tactics to befool the people. He said that it was high time to expose evil designs on NC as this party was mother of all problems in J&K. "Since 1947, successive NC regime has been propagating divisive politics to remain in power", he said and added that wrong policies adopted by the NC were responsible for all ills in the State.
He regretted that for petty political gains, NC leadership has always tried to create division between people of different regions. "It was only after 2002 when Mufti Mohammad Sayeed became Chief Minister of the State some sincere efforts were made to bridge the gap", he said.
Highlighting achievements of the previous PDP-Congress regime in the State, Sharma said that Mufti Mohammad Sayeed as Chief Minister of the State had set an example of good governance. "During the regime of Mufti Sayeed every region and sub-region was treated equally and policies and programmes were formulated with the consultations of elected representatives of all areas", he said. Yash Pal Sharma reminded the gathering that it was during the regime of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed that a comprehensive plan was formulated for development and growth of Rajouri district. He especially mentioned opening of BGBS University in Rajouri.
District president Qayum Dar, Qamar Din Choudhary, Prem Sharma, Tazim Dar, Vijay Kumar, Javed Iqbal, Choudhary Shakoor, Mian Mohammad Sharief, Haji Talab, Mohammad Jameel, Mirza Mohammed Ahsraf, Haji Mohammad Razak and others also spoke on the occasion.
Another meeting of the PDP youth wing was also addressed by Yash Pal Sharma.
Anjum Mirza, district president youth wing, Rashid Khan, Amir Suhail, Fayaz Mirza, Mohammad Shokat, Mohammed Khaliq, Mohammad Rafiq and others also spoke on the occasion.
