Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, Jan 29: National Conference today alleged that Congress party never allowed Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to run the Government smoothly and on one pretext or the other, majority of the Congress leaders did not cooperate with the National Conference over multiple issues from past five years.
"Omar should not run away and should face these 'opportunist' leaders bravely. After all NC is the single largest party and Congress forgets that Omar Abdullah had to face criticism for the wrongdoings of some Congress Ministers," NC legislator Dr Sheikh Mustafa Kamaal said adding that Congress party is not reliable.
Kamaal said that due to immaterial issues raised by Congress party from time to time made Chief Minister Omar Abdullah paralyzed and he failed to deliver as Congress party encircled and chocked him always. "Omar did not get enough time to run the Government freely. He was always cornered by Congress party leaders on one or the other pretext," he said.
"As Omar Abdullah came out from the shock of Shopian double murder case, Congress party raised the issue of rotational Chief Ministership. So much time was lost over that immaterial issue and Omar had to visit Delhi repeatedly. The 2010 agitation made the Government paralyzed and no developmental projects could be started. Now Congress party is creating chaos over Mushtaq Ganaie committee report which relates to the creation of new administrative units," he said.
National Conference senior legislator said that Omar should not run away but face these few Congress leaders in a bold way. "Why Congress party acted as mute spectator when Ganaie Committee submitted its report. The fact is that they are feeling uncomfortable with the stand taken by Omar Abdullah over the creation of new administrative units," Kamaal said adding that Congress will be solely responsible if present Coalition Government in Jammu and Kashmir ceases to exist.
Kamaal castigated Congress party and said that it is not trustworthy and it has ditched NC from time to time. "To form the Government with Congress was a compulsion and we all know how this party (Congress) has stabbed in our back in past from time to time," he said.
