Inter -Collegiate symposium cum poster making competition held

Jammu, Jan 29 : Dogra College of Education organized an Inter-Collegiate symposium cum Poster Making Competition in collaboration with Indian Oil Corporation in the College premises on Wednesday.
The topic of the symposium was "Save Fuel, Save Environment" where in Twenty three volunteers hailing from various Colleges of Education participated. The theme of Poster Making Competition was also the same, wherein twenty six students of B Ed. Colleges took part. The programme started with lighting of traditional lamp. Earlier, Bela Thakur, Academic Coordinator of the college presented the Welcome Address.
Girish Rajan, State Level coordinator, Oil Industries (J&K) was the Chief Guest on the occasion. In his address to the students he stressed upon the dire need of the present times that everyone of us should conserve fuel as much as possible and utilise it judicially and economically. Saving fuel means saving money and saving environment from getting deteriorated.
Prominent among those who were present on the occasion were Kr. Samar Dev Singh Charak, Secretary Dogra Educational Trust, Prof. B D Damral, Director-cum Principal Dogra College of Education, Shefali Sharma, Vice Principal, Naveen representative from Indian Oil Corporation and Faculty Members from various Colleges of Education. The members of the Jury included S L Kotwal Principal DIETT and Rajni Manhas NSS Programme Officer of the College and Poonam Gupta, Senior lecturer of the College. In the Inter-College Symposium, Phul Varsha and Tanuja from Dogra College of Education were adjudged first and second respectively while Indeep from Ranjit College of Education was declared third. In the Poster Making competition Geeta Devi from Dogra College of Education stood first while Vishal Sharma from Dogra Degree College and Kiran Yadav from J K College stood second and third respectively. All the winners were accordingly awarded with the Prizes and Momentoes. The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks which was moved by Sumer Singh, Senior Lecturer of the College.
