| NSF demands reinstatement of suspended Election Asstt, seeks CM’s intervention | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 23: National Secular Forum (NSF) today demanded immediate reinstatement of suspended Election Assistant at Tehsil Office Jammu Parveen Akhtar, who had made a complaint against some senior officers and a legislature. "The increasing level of corruption in state could be attributed to criminal silence of authorities, who instead of taking action against the corrupt officials, have been targeting the honest officers. Same had happened to Election Assistant Parveen Akhtar, who was penalized by Deputy Commissioner Jammu AK Sahu for refusing to comply with illegal dictates of ADC Kalyan Singh, Shahnaz Choudhary posted as AC(G) and MLA Indu Pawar", said Qayoom Malik, president of Jammu University wing of NSF said, while addressing media persons. He further said that it was very astounding to notice that no First Information Report (FIR) has been lodged by administration on the complaint of EI Parveen Akhtar, who had leveled very serious allegations against above said officers. "The DC tried to silence the honest voice by suspending Parveen Akhtar. She had complained that ADC Kalyan Singh, MLA Indu Pawar and Shahnaz Choudhary AC (G) had compelled her to work for tainted former Health Minister Shabir Khan in Rajouri area", he said, adding that there was a need to conduct thorough probe of the matter, but it was very a shaming that a whistleblower was silenced. Appealing Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to intervene, JU president of NSF said that a thorough probe of entire episode should be conducted. "The property and service record of ADC Kalyan Singh, AC(G) Shehnaz Choudhary should be probed so that system of justice should be created in state otherwise honest people would completely lost their faith in democratic process", he said. |
