| Sant Nirankari Mission celebrates 'Guru Pooja Divas' | | | Early Times Report
BATOTE, Feb 23: The Guru Pooja Divas was celebrated by the followers of Sant Nirankari Mission at the Satsang Bhavan with devotion and religious fervour in Tringla here today. An annual function was celebrated as the 60th birthday of their present leading saint Sant Baba Hardev Singh. The religious sermons, bhaja-kirtan, cultural programmes and skits marked the celebration here under the stewardship of organiser, Mulkhraj Bhagat and was chaired by Daljit Kumar. While addressing the large number of devotees who had thronged the venue, Daljit Kumar exhorted the devotees to follow the footsteps and ideals of Sant Baba Hardev Singh to be an ideal person. "We should not only pray the Almighty and purify ourselves but also serve and change others in the society like our saints," he said. Mulkhraj informed that the Mission is one of the leading blood donating voluntary organizations in India and is running 5 charitable dispensaries and 169 dispensaries,one college and 17 schools, 106 Tailoring and Embroidery Training Centres to help widows or destitute besides 22 libraries. The dowry-less mass marriages of poors, cleanliness and plantation drives have also been conducted by the Mission off and on. |
