Udhampur, Feb 23: The ongoing protest of villagers of block Ghordi demanding tehsil status today entered 22nd day. The villagers closed their shops and other establishments to protest the discriminate establishment of new administrative units.
Protestors alleged that there are 27 villages in Ghordi Block with total population of about 65000 people. The villagers further rued that people living over there have to cover a long distance to reach tehsil Headquater at Ramnagar for their different Tehsil works .
Protestor also raised slogans in favour of their demands. Those who were present in the protest were Sarpanch Ghordi Bharat Bushan Sharma, Joginder Kumar, Des Raj, Rano Devi and others. |
