| UPA Govt failed to protect lives of people: JKDF | | | | BHADERWAH, Mar 29: Holding Congress led UPA Government responsible for the recent terror attack at Janglote, Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Front (JKDF) State President and candidate for Doda-Udhampur Parliamentary Constituency, Anil Gupta said that the Government has failed to protect the lives and property of its own people from external forces inimical to peace and tranquility of the State of J&K. Such cowardly acts are the result of weak foreign policy of the Government due to which the ultras indulge in massacres and terror acts only to mark their presence and to register their designs. Such acts cannot be carried out all of a sudden, failure of security agencies to check the intrusions despite prior apprehension that such misadventures will be carried out by the elements across the border to take advantage of election season in the country is putting the question mark on the functioning of security mechanism in the State. The whole incident is needed to be thoroughly investigated and responsibilities be fixed to prevent such horrendous incidents again and again. While holding series of public meetings at Bhaderwah, Anil Gupta said, "Recent attack has vindicated our stand regarding need for strengthening of VDCs and other such bodies to assist forces to take on these ultras. It was Prof Chaman Lal Gupta who during the early nineties took these elements with an iron hand by constituting the VDC's, which have played a vital role in fighting the militancy, but it is the irony of fate that subsequent Government's at State as well as at centre by active support of Congress Party have put their knees down before agenda of separatists and semi separatists only for their vote bank politics. |
