| Itoo video coercing old man to support NC goes viral on net | | | Early Times Report ANANTNAG, Mar 29: Much to the embarrassment of National Conference, a video has appeared on the social networking site Facebook in which Minister for Social Welfare, Sakina Itoo, along with her party workers can been seen compelling an old man to oath and support her during coming elections. The lone woman Minister in Jammu and Kashmir and her workers are seen forcing the old man to take oath and swear by Allah and the Prophet (pbuh) and promise that he will support National Conference. "Recite Kalima Toiba and take holy Quran in your hands, swear that you will support Sakina Itoo," one of the workers not in picture directs the old man which he repeatedly refuses. The 3.11 minutes video evidently depicts Itoo and her party workers eagerness to seek the support of the old man. One of the workers not in picture requests the old man to do work for the party as he did in 1996. He asks the old man to take holy Quran in his hands and swear that he will work for the party to which old man replies that Holy Quran is meant for recitation and not for swearing. After getting his answer, Itoo retorts back and supports the arguments of her worker and tells the old man that he deviated from the right path. "Recite the Kalima Toiba and take pledge that you will support me," Itoo repeatedly asked the old man and while holding his hand again and again tells him that she has no malice in her heart against him. The old man who is forced to support National Conference again says he used to do in 1996. "Holy Quran is not meant for taking pledges. I knew your father Wali Mohammad, was a good person and I have no malice against you too", says old man in the video. After the said video was uploaded anonymously on face book in the afternoon, people from different walks of life which include Journalists, Students, Businessman criticized Sakina and National Conference for using religion for personal political gains. Pertinently politicians in Kashmir these days are on toes for campaigning for their candidates. |
