| Farooq accuses Vajpayee for not restoring Autonomy | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 29: National Conference which enjoyed power by joining the BJP led NDA Government has now blamed the former Prime Minister for rejecting autonomy report passed by the State assembly.
The then NDA Government especially Vajpayee and the former Deputy Prime Minister LK Advani had summarily rejected the report.
Even though Dr Farooq and his son continued to be part of the Vajpayee Government after the report was rejected, more than a decade later, Farooq had now said BJP is anti-Kashmir and keen to abrogate Art 370.
Dr Farooq is either living in political delusion or believes that voters are still naive to believe him. It's an established historical fact that after Indira Gandhi, Vajpayee was the only Prime Minister to address a public rally in the heart of the Srinagar.
Not only that Vajpayee even talked of solution to Kashmir within the ambit of 'Insanyiat', for which he is still considered one of the most liked leader in the Valley.
Dr Farooq, who had reportedly opened channels of communications with the BJP, is now deliberately accusing BJP for political gains.
NC is desperately raking up the issue of Art 370 to restore so called autonomy despite the fact it had itself allowed application of many central law in the interest of the state and also the union Government. |
