| New Delhi failed to tackle cross border terrorism: Chaman | | | Jammu, Mar 29: Voicing his grief and anger over the yesterday terrorist attack claiming three innocent lives and injuries to others, the former Union Minister and MLA, Chaman Lal Gupta observed that re-occurrence of such attacks in border areas of Kathua - Ramgarh sector within some months speaks volumes about security arrangements and failure of New Delhi to tackle cross border terrorism in a befitting manner. Gupta said that there is dire need to review of the security arrangements and policies towards Pakistan, which has come to be an epicenter of breeding terrorism. He recalled that in 2003 Pakistan was made to publically commit that no soil under control of Pakistan would be allowed to be used for cross border but it was unfortunate that the changed dispensation at New Delhi did not maintain the required pressure on Pakistan to keep up their word. Gupta also stressed for immediate steps to plug loopholes in the security arrangements and properly helping the dependents of victims of brutalities of terrorism in addition to mobilizing the support of the people of border areas to meet the enemy challenges. |
