Talking to Early Times, Sharma, who also happens to be RTI activist, said that most of the time he remained in his profession and that too mostly outside his state that is why he could not vote. He remained stationed in North-East, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, UP and also in his home State while performing his professional duties as Dy. Commandant in C.R.P.F. He further said, two days back, he received his photo identity card from election commission and will cast vote for the first time. Security forces earlier were not allowed to exercise the franchise, that is why I was not able to cast vote for so long.
