Shastri demands DA instalment in cash along with salary, pension for March

Jammu, Mar 29: Expressing satisfaction the issuance of formal notification in regard to release of 10% DA due from January last in favour of central govt. employees and pensioners, President of the National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) Subash Shastri today urged upon the State Govt. to release the same to its employees and pensioners at the earliest.
Addressing a rally of its workers at Gandhi Nagar here, Shastri pleaded that the DA instalment be paid in cash along with salary and pension for the month of March adding that DA is the part of the salary said and adding that the release of its due instalment cannot be delayed because of model code of conduct, as has been done by the Central Govt.
Shastri said that an early decision should also be taken for the merger of 50% DA in the basic pay and pension as per the recommendations of the 4th pay commission.
Pleading the cause of daily rated workers and casual labourers working in various Govt. departments, Shastri demanded release of their wages pending months together adding that Medical allowance also needs to be enhanced from rupee three hundred to rupee one thousand per month.
Shastri also suggested strict enforcement of C.P. Fund deduction scheme to benefit daily rated workers and casual labourers in the all the departments and protect their right.
Release of 3rd instalment of 6th pay commission arrears, issuance of regularization orders of 180 daily wagers working in Rural Development department ,grant of 20 percent interim relief and enhancing the wages of daily wagers to rupee ten thousand per month were other demands highlighted in the rally.
