ET REPORT JAMMU, Mar 29: A two day seminar on 'New Challenges and Avenues in Philosophy' was organized by the School of Philosophy and Culture, SMVD University, Katra from 28th - 29th March 2014. The Chief Guest of the inaugural function was Prof. B. Sharma, Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi Vedic Vishwavidyalaya, Bhopal Campus. A. Khajuria, Registrar, SMVD University was the guest of honour. The inaugural function was presided by Prof. V.K. Bhat, Dean, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. Academicians and Researchers from different parts of India came to participate in this event. Prof. B. Labh (University of Jammu), Dr. A.V. Ravishankar Sarma (IIT Kanpur), Dr. Jaison Vallooran (IIT Kanpur) and Dr. P. Upendra (IIT Indore) were the invited speakers. There were altogether 16 papers presented in this seminar in the area of Logic, Moral Philosophy, Ontology, Epistemology, Metaphysics and Political Philosophy. The participants and discussants included research scholars and MA students of Philosophy. The event concluded with a valedictory session which was presided over by Dr. V.K. Tripathi, Director of the School of Philosophy and Culture. The seminar was successfully concluded and it was resolved that the proceedings will be published. |
