Jammu, Apr 25: Fumigated over the PDD's step motherly treatment, the residents of Tanda held protest against the department and captured the Grid Station Tanda.
As per reports, hundreds of the residents of village Tanda who were facing darkness after Transfer of Mohalla Gurdwara, Tanda got damaged eight days back today gathered and shouted slogans against the PDD authorities.
Villagers said that repeated attempts have been made to contact the concerned JEs and AEs but all went in vain. Irked over the apathy of the government officials to the genuine demand of the villagers, ladies, children and elderly citizens today captured the gird station and protested for their demands. However after getting complaint from PDD department, SHO Akhnoor, Inspector Pradip Sharma arrived at the site later on and assured them help through the PDD authorities.
Later, AEE PDD Akhnoor, S S Manhas and JE Parshotam Sharma arrived at Grid Station Tanda & regretted for the delay in repairing the transformer. Later after the assurances of Xen Akhnoor, that the transformer will be installed by 12 Pm on 26 April, the dharna was lifted on. |
