| Cong to prepare lists of those leaders who worked against party candidates in Jammu, Udhampur LS seats | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 25: Before declaration of the results of Lok Sabha elections, the Congress leadership has started the process to identifying those leaders who have secretly or openly worked against official party candidates Ghulam Nabi Azad and Madan Lal Sharma, who are in fray for Udhampur-Doda-Kathua and Jammu-Poonch Parliamentary segments. After preparations of the final list action would be taken against those leaders who had tried to sabotage party's chances in winning Lok Sabha seats. Credible sources in the Congress said that a number of party leaders had worked against Madan Lal Sharma, who is party candidate for Jammu-Poonch Lok Sabha seat. Instead of sitting silently at their houses, a number of Congress leaders were active during electioneering and worked against Madan Lal Sharma. Insiders said that Madan Lal Sharma is himself aware of those Congress leaders and their supporters who worked against him and tried to sabotage his campaign during the election. After getting feed-back from the grass-root level workers, Congress leadership in the State have started preparing lists of such "traitors". Credible sources said that newly appointed general secretary incharge of Jammu and Kashmir Congress, Rajni Patil was also informed about the activities of all those leaders. Patil, who is working as general secretary incharge in place of Ambika Soni, has assured to take strict action against all those leaders who played dubious role during campaign. On Udhampur-Doda Parliamentary seats, Congress leaders, irrespective of their factions, worked hard to ensure victory of Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad but rule of sitting MP from this seat Chowdhary Lal Singh is under scan. "Ghulam Nabi Azad and his supporters have got some authentic evidences which would substantiate their allegations that Chowdhary Lal Singh has worked against Ghulam Nabi Azad", a loyalist of Azad, who wished not to disclose his identity, said. He said that besides staunch supporters of Chowdhary Lal Singh, a number of Panchayat members who have association with Singh had also worked against Ghulam Nabi Azad and supported BJP. |
