Kishtwar, Apr 25: In the midst of ensuing election season, the revelations made by the kingpin in the recently unearthed Roop Nagar sex racket may drop a huge bombshell on several noted faces and political parties.
The influential kingpin of the sex racket who managed to escape the clutches of law due to her high profile contacts on atleast two occasions in the past has reportedly disclosed to the Police her clientele that includes politicians, bureaucrats and other noted faces of the city.
As per the details available with "Early Times", the kingpin of the sex racket Zahida Parveen wife of Anil Kotwal of Bhaderwah, a forest department employee arrested by the Jammu police couple of days ago was running this brothel since last over one decade and escaped any action due to her access to government functionaries, bureaucrats, senior police officials, businessmen and several others who from time to time protected her from legal action.
Source said that during her interrogation, the kingpin revealed that she had pushed hundreds of poor girls, college going students and women in flesh trade and supplied them to Ministers bureaucrats, police officials and reveals the name of a former Jammu Minister and a former MLA who according to her were her regular costumers. The sources said that the kingpin hired the services of middlemen who remained in constant touch with the costumers and offered them new girls whenever they were pushed into flesh trade. Major chunk of the kingpin's costumers came in the form of the youth and businessmen from Doda, Bhaderwah and Kishtwar, but sizeable chunk of costumers also came from places like Ramban, Udhampur, Samba, Kathua and from Kashmir as well.
The sources said that police is scrutinizing the names of the victims so as to persuade them to record their statements before the competent court. The sources said that the list of the costumers is being verified so that the action against them could be taken in accordance to the law. Sources said that in order to accommodate more and more costumers, the kingpin constructed her house in such a manner that the entry of multiple costumers could be ensured inside without bringing them face to face.
The sources said that after starting from her official accommodation in Kachi Chawni area, the kingpin expanded her illicit trade and in no time accumulated huge wealth and constructed her own house in Roop Nagar.
It is pertinent to mention that police had received as many as thirty two complaints against her according to which some policemen and politicians had frequented her brothel, which had evoked resentment in the entire area.
While police were laying a trap, a Punjab based newly married woman , lodged a complaint with police alleging that she was gang raped in the brothel of Shahida. In her complaint she alleged that she was lured by her of suitable job and was taken to her residence, where she was gang raped. She was also threatened with life if she opened her mouth.
In the past, Shahida's name had surfaced in the vehicle theft case and accordingly an FIR was registered against her in Gandhi Nagar police station in the year 2005.Further,a strong protest demonstration was held outside her residence following the recovery of the dead body of youth at her residence. The incident took place in the year 2009 when a thirty year old youth was found dead under mysterious circumstances in sector 2 of Roop Nagar area, but due to her high profile links she manage to escape any action. |
