Jammu, Apr 25: Chandigarh University Gharuan has announced dates for its National Level Scholarship-cum-Admission Test (CU-SAT 2014) for engineering students. 300 Engineering seats in the field Computer Science, Mechanical, Electronics and Communication, Civil, Electrical, Petroleum, and Automobile would be offered under CU-SAT 2014 to the students passing-out their 10+2 examination with Non-Medical stream. Announcing the details regarding National Level Scholarship Test, CU SAT 2014 during a press conference at Regional Office of Chandigarh University, Jammu, Dr. RS Bawa, Vice-Chancellor, CU-Gharuan said that a scholarship amount of Rs. 9 crores have been en-marked to be offered to the meritorious students who will qualify in the National Level Scholarship Test which is to be conducted by Chandigarh University at 58 centers all-over India from 1st June 2014 onwards. Giving further information on CU-SAT 2014, Dr Bawa, said that a National Merit list would be announced on 15th June 2014, in which All India Rank of the student would be generated based upon their performance in CU-SAT 2014 and an equal weight-age would be given to 10+2 examination board results. He further added that the All India Test for Engineering students would a 1 hour on-line examination based upon Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and General English subjects. Based upon promoting Merit & Talent model, Dr. Bawa said that CU-SAT 2014 would offer 100% scholarship to first 150 toppers of CU-SAT 2014 while the next 150 toppers would be given 75% scholarship during their course tenure. The on-line registration process for CU-SAT 2014 has already begun on the official website of Chandigarh University, Dr. Bawa, said that any 10+2 student of Non-Medical stream can register online for National Level Scholarship test for which the last date announced by University is 25th May 2014. In addition to above scholarship, Chandigarh University is offering Fellowship worth Rs. 3 Crores to 38 Ph.D. regular students undergoing their Research based Doctorate program in various fields of Engineering and Management. The VC said that other Scholarships have also been announced for meritorious students who want to pursue Non-Engineering courses such as Hotel Management, Pharmacy, Animation, Business Management and Bio-Technology. "We have more than 1500 students from J&K studying at Chandigarh University and understanding their needs, Chandigarh University in order to promote brilliant Students from Jammu and Kashmir region has formulated a special scholarship scheme that would encourage them to take admission under the scheme in which any student securing 80% or more in their 10+2 board examination would be offered course fee waiver upto 50%", Dr. Bawa added. |
