JAMMU, Apr 29: Guru Harkrishan Public School and SOS Gole Gujral won the under-17 and under-17 hockey titles respectively in the ongoing inter-school boys' competitions of Jammu district, organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) at K K Hakhu Stadium, here today. In the under-17 final, Guru Harkrishan School defeated Army Public School (APS) Miran Sahib by two goals to one. Navjot and Harminder Pal were the scorers from winning team. Earlier, in the semifinals, APS Miran Sahib trounced SOS Gole Gujral 3-2. Tushar two and Dheeraj scored one goal for winners APS.Meanwhile, the under-14 hockey title went to SOS Gole Gujral, who defeated Government High School Simbal Camp 3-2. Deepak (two) and Harshit were the scorers. Today's matches conducted by the technical penal comprised of Amarjeet, Harvinder Jagjeet, Gurmeet, Karanjeet, Mandeep, Harjit Kour and Sanjit. Handball: APS Domana, Heritage bag titles Meanwhile, the Army Public School (APS) Domana and Heritage School clinched under-17 and under-14 boys' handball titles respectively beating their opponents in the finals played at District Police Lines, here today. In the under-17 final, APS Domana defeated Heritage school 5-3 (Munish two goals). Earlier, in the semifinals, APS Domana beat St. Peter High School 4-3 while Heritage defeated BSF Paloura 9-2 (Jasmeet Singh three goals). In a preliminary round match, Heritage outplayed Spring Dales 7-3. In the under-14 final, Heritage School emerged winner beating APS Domana 4-1. Adhar Gupta and Raghav netted two goals each from winning side. Earlier, APS Domana blanked St. Peter High School 6-0 in the semifinals. |
