Jammu, Apr 29 : In glaring instance of nepotism and favoritism on the part of CAPD Department, An AD has been given lucrative posting as AD Trade and store in contravention of norms. The eligibility criteria which is mandatory for this coveted post is being violated with impunity as authorities of CAPD are interested to post this blue eyed on this coveted post. If sources are to be believed, AD Trade and store Ghar Singh has close links with Director CAPD and that is why he has been given the important posting despite his tainted service record.
"CAPD Department has becomes a hub of tainted officers as majority of officials were involved in bunglings of ration, lack eligibility criteria & have vigilance inquires pending against them sources said. "AD Trade and store also has vigilance case pending against him while his posting in Reasi district during which Vigilance also raided his house but due to patronage of CAPD higher authorities he continues to get plum postings". Sources privy to Department said hectic lobbying is prevailing in Tainted AD Trade and store office ware house as AD has appointed his own favourites in his office.
"It has been observed that several officials of CAPD against whom vigilance cases are pending are enjoying postings at their will" sources said adding, having exorbitant amount of money in their coffers these officials bribe even the investigation agencies to hush up the cases. Sources in the department divulge that Since he has taken the charge of AD Trade and store, complaints are pouring in from different areas of ration shortage & black-marketing while consumers are craving for ration and in far-flung areas . One of the officials wishing anonymity said" the eligibility criterian is not being followed in promotion of officials of CAPD which speaks volume of callousness on the part of authorities he said, adding favoritism also marred functioning of CAPD as officials are not well versed with system of department "he rued.
"Having the backing of higher officials of CAPD, tainted AD has amassed huge assets & wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income" sources asserted.
Sources said that officials of CAPD are astounded over the appointment of erring AD for key post and they demanded posting of some KAS officer as early as possible. |
