Bhaderwah, Apr 29: Former minister and sitting MLA Mohd Sharief Niaz in a statement said here today that due to continuously untimely rains and heavy snowfall in Bahellsa, Bhaderwah, Chirala, Bisnota and Inderwal areas the crops of wheat, mustard, vegetables and fruit trees have been totally damaged, in upper reaches the sowing season of maize had gone away due the snow fall. Niaz said that there were no ration supply in these areas since three months and people are facing hardship and starvation. The administration has supply Atta which is not good for health, even animal does not eat that Atta. He demanded inquiry into the substandard supply of Atta and demanded immediate supply of wheat, kerosene oil and atta in these areas. He said that no payment was made to labourers since 2012 under MGNREGA scheme, development work of various department and road works are standstill. He added that 35 transformer of PDD have been damaged in only Bhellsa block 2-8 months and department has not replaced the damaged one. While targeting these departments he said that "it seems that PDD has received current and went to the ventilator and other departments went to coma". He appealed the CM to intervene personally so that public may not suffer more. |
