Kishtwar, Apr 29: Averting a major terror eventuality in remote Marwah village of Kishtwar District, the security forces busted a hideout believed to be related to self styled Hizab-ul-Muijahadeen (HM) commander active in the area and effected cache of arms and ammunition including Chinese grenades. As per the details, acting on a tip off troops of 11 Rashtryia Riffle (RR) and local police launched search operation in upper Marwah area and busted a major terror hideout in Monchwar area of Navapachi some 4 hour foot journey from Tehsil headquarter Marwah. During the operation the troops found a natural cave hideout measuring 10X8X4 feet situated on the bank of the river Marusudar and effected a recovery of arms and ammunition besides some daily consumable items. "The recovery included one AK 56 rifle, one pistol 7.62mm with magazine, one 303 rifle with magazine, 94 rounds of AK 56, 6 rounds of pistol 7.62mm, 5 rounds of 303 rifle, 04 Chinese hand grenades, 5 magazines of AK 56, one IED, one radio set , one binocular, 09 pencil cells, 02 packets of medicines and other daily consumable items, sources said. They said that hideout is believed to belong to Hizb supreme Commander Jahangir Saroori who was active in the area since last 24 years and is also wanted in September 7, 2011 Delhi High Court blast case. "The arms and ammunition might have dumped with the objective to disturb the Lok Sabha polls 2014, sources said and said, "due to alertness of the troops and heavy snowfall in the area during election days, the militants fail to make the use of these weapons." |
